I discovered the kc Essentials brand over the holidays last year when a local boutique included a soap as a gift with purchase. I instantly knew there was something special about this brand and loved learning the story and the woman behind it.

Dimensions: Since every dough bowl is unique, this is an approximation: 10" x 6" x 2" 

Burn Life: Approximately 25-30 hours, holds approximately 25 ounces of soy wax.

YOUR FIRST BURN: Light the wick and burn until a complete melt pool has formed (melted wax has reached the sides of the vessel). Wooden wicks take 4+ hours.

SUBSEQUENT BURNS: Trim the wooden wick to 1/8" long. Light the wick. Make sure the wick remains centered as it burns. Always trim your wick before each use, removing all charred wood from previous burns. If you don’t, the wick may not stay lit long enough to fuel the flame, causing it to extinguish itself.  To trim a wooden wick, remove all charred wood.

GENERAL GUIDELINES: Never leave a candle burning unattended. Set your candle on a fire-resistant surface. If the wick creeps to one side, blow out the candle and recenter the wick with tweezers. Allow it to cool completely before relighting. Keep lit candles away from any decor (curtains) and flammable material. Never burn a candle longer than 1 hour once a complete melt pool has formed. Extinguish the flame and upcycle the bowl when a 1/4-1/2 inch of wax remains in the vessel. If you follow this care guide, you will be able to enjoy your candle longer, safer, and save yourself some money

This brand is a home-grown brand in our backyard of Chester County, PA.   In the summer of 2013, Katie's infant son, who had severe eczema, experienced an anaphylactic reaction to yogurt. One emergency room trip and several allergist appointments later, they learned he had multiple food allergies, so they needed to carefully consider what was put in and on his little body.  Katie was astonished to discover that many products she had been using throughout their life contained ingredients that were not only unnatural but also potentially harmful.

In fact, topical remedies recommended for mitigating her son’s allergies contained chemicals proven to have negative long-term effects. As a result, she decided to create personal care products made from only natural, non-harmful ingredients for her son and the entire family. Sharing her quest with other women, Katie realized many people had similar issues and concerns and were also searching for alternative personal care options. So, that was the beginning of KC Essentials; using only natural ingredients, including essential oils, each creation yielded successful results for my fellow moms and their families— time and time again.
