About Polish Pottery
The history of the famed Polish pottery town of Boleslawiec began several thousand ago. The remarkable pottery created by artisans in Boleslawiec has roots dating back to at least 6,000 B.C. The story of Boleslawiec Polish Pottery is both an interesting and triumphant one. The potters of this town and region have had to overcome immense setbacks, but they have always prevailed and exist as one of the most famous producers of pottery in the world.
Ceramika Artystyczna (CA) is a world renowned maker of hand painted stoneware from Boleslawiec, Poland. Stoneware made by CA is of the highest quality and most exquisite and unique artistry.
“Hand made in Poland” at the bottom of the vessel. UNIKAT pieces have an additional “UNIKAT” stamp to indicate that it is a unique piece. In addition, it features the piece’s pattern number and the artist’s initials, or full name, depending on the quality level of the UNIKAT vessel.
Signature UNIKAT Polish pottery of the highest level of artistry. It is created by extremely talented artists who enjoy the privilege of working on their designs from beginning to end. Thus, these pieces are very limited, and each of them is a remarkable work of art with fine designs.
Instead of just initials, the artists sign the pieces using their full names. Also, the pieces are incredibly unique as they are hand-made and reflect the style and inspiration of a particular artist.
About Teresa Andrukiewicz
The artist has been connected with the Artistic Handicraft Cooperative “Artistic Ceramics and Pottery” since 1996. Since 2001 she has been a pattern designer.
My artistic inspiration stems mainly from watching nature, whereas my imagination allows me to arrange green twigs and colorful flowers in various forms. Ali projects are born suddenly and unexpectedly. They can be stimulated by practically everything from a decorative plant to a beautiful landscape. Artistic activity requires freedom, but pottery, as the material, has certain limits. A good designer is able to realize their free vision in a clear, specific and concrete manner. This is the ideal I am striving to attain.
About Teresa Liana – is a designer of decoration of Artistic Handicrtaft Cooperative “Ceramika Artystyczna” in Bolesławiec. She is a Graduate of Technikum Ceramiczne (high school) in Krotoszyn. Teresa has been working for the Cooperative since 1983. As a decoration designer, she has introduced over 2100 patterns to the collections, decorated not only by the sponge stamp method, but also by utilizing art brushes to achieve her unique decorations. She has received numerous awards by the Industrial Design Institute in Warsaw. Continuing the search for consistency in her decorations, with actual forms, she has artistically created a number of thematic collections for customers such as: “The English Gardens”, and a broad range of decorations depicting bouquets, butterflies and birds. In addition, decorations in a variety of hues in cobalt blue have produced great success.
The new unique decoration line is created in white and red hues. Daisies and poppies on a dinner set provide an authentic climate of the Polish landscape. A characteristic motif on this new collection is a teapot with a cup, graphically designed. It is absolutely addictive fun with the vivid play of colours and figures.
