About Polish Pottery

The history of the famed Polish pottery town of Boleslawiec began several thousand ago. The remarkable pottery created by artisans in Boleslawiec has roots dating back to at least 6,000 B.C. The story of Boleslawiec Polish Pottery is both an interesting and triumphant one. The potters of this town and region have had to overcome immense setbacks, but they have always prevailed and exist as one of the most famous producers of pottery in the world.

Ceramika Artystyczna (CA) is a world renowned maker of hand painted stoneware from Boleslawiec, Poland. Stoneware made by CA is of the highest quality and most exquisite and unique artistry

Signature UNIKAT Polish pottery of the highest level of artistry. It is created by extremely talented artists who enjoy the privilege of working on their designs from beginning to end. Thus, these pieces are very limited, and each of them is a remarkable work of art with fine designs.

Instead of just initials, the artists sign the pieces using their full names. Also, the pieces are incredibly unique as they are hand-made and reflect the style and inspiration of a particular artist.

Teresa Liana – is a designer of decoration of Artistic Handicraft Cooperative “Ceramika Artystyczna” in Bolesławiec. She is a Graduate of Technikum Ceramiczne (high school) in Krotoszyn. Teresa has been working for the Cooperative since 1983. As a decoration designer, she has introduced over 2100 patterns to the collections, decorated not only by the sponge stamp method, but also by utilizing art brushes to achieve her unique decorations. She has received numerous awards by the Industrial Design Institute in Warsaw. Continuing the search for consistency in her decorations, with actual forms, she has artistically created a number of thematic collections for customers such as: “The English Gardens”, and a broad range of decorations depicting bouquets, butterflies and birds. In addition, decorations in a variety of hues in cobalt blue have produced great success.

Barbara Fidelus-I am receptive to the beauty of forms, scents and colors. I receive the richness of the world by means of senses, and transfer it to my patterns. I like everything that breaks the monotony of existence. I try to live in agreement with nature and this is why it often inspires me. There is a kind of softness in nature, which is not alien to me. l am a supporter of combining floral motives with geometric ones.
